I’m Joining PhotoHunt This Week – Dark
This is the shot from our apartment window looking out over the Bay of Kotor to the late night lights of Kotor City and the ancient fortification wall that climbs the mountain behind.
I loved the way the ambient light just barely illuminates the two lonely row boats anchored in the still water at the bottom right of the photo.
Here is the view during the daytime. The camera angle is oriented slightly left so it isn’t exact.
Welcome to PhotoHunt – glad you’re joining in!
Awesome photo – I love it. If you flip it one turn, it looks like a heart.
Mine’s up – it’s the crazy book-loving kitten I told you about earlier this week. Have a good weekend.
Deborah responds: Thanks, Annie. By the way the kitty is the sweetest thing!
Welcome to PhotoHunt!
What a gorgeous view from your apartment! I’d have a hard time leaving a place that had such wonderful nighttime view.
The lights make the shape of a heart when you look at it sideways. 😉
Deborah responds: Maria, I didn’t notice that! Probably because I have the mental picture of it in the daytime. I should dig up a daytime photo and post it along with this one, shouldn’t I?
Too funny! Maria saw the heart too. I’d love to see the day time photo too if you get the chance.
Deborah responds: I’ll add one now.
That’s really cool. I had to look several times, because not knowing what it looks like in day time, I had a hard time believing those shots were of the same place – amazing what the dark hides.
Deborah responds: A lot of the lights on the water’s edge were the big yachts that had anchored for the night, but were not there in the daytime. I think that gives the impression of much bigger city that is really there.
Hi Deborah, this is a wonderful theme photo. I agree with Annie & Maria that the lights and their reflection in the water does look like a heart.
It’s great to compare the two photos of same scene together.
You had a very beautiful view from your apartment.
Deborah responds: Thanks, Kathy. I can’t believe everyone else saw the heart thing and I didn’t! Yes it was a beautiful view. I need to get around to doing a review on that apartment, don’t I?
Thanks for adding the day time photo. What a beautiful place!
